Autopsia Collective
Autopsia Collective is an artistic initiative founded by a dancer and a composer, united by a multidisciplinary approach to the stories of the human body. Drawing inspiration from the anatomical theatres of the 16th century, we treat each project as a new field of inquiry into the intricate connections between the body, art, science, technology, and social change.
Every story requires its own tools and knowledge, as well as a willingness to embrace the risk (artistic, technical and social) inherent in all discovery. Therefore, we prioritise artisanal exploration over the pursuit of technical perfection. We are perpetual apprentices, learning the languages of dance, theatre, performance, body art, video, collage, animation, music, and sound design as each project requires.
Central to our ethos is collaboration. We have collaborated with photographers, videographers, and visual artists, and we actively seek these intersections. This open dialogue with other disciplines is fundamental to our process, ensuring that every project is a unique exploration built on a shared spirit of curiosity.
